About Red Butte Garden

Red Butte Garden, nestled in the foothills of the University of Utah campus, stands as the largest botanical garden in the Intermountain West and serves as a State Arboretum. Since its establishment in 1985, this 100-acre haven has invited visitors to explore its 21 acres of meticulously cultivated gardens and five miles of scenic hiking trails that meander through a vast Natural Area. Funded by the community, Red Butte Garden is renowned for its diverse plant collections, beautifully designed display gardens, and a half-million springtime blooming bulbs. It’s also celebrated for hosting a world-class outdoor summer concert series and offering award-winning educational programs rooted in horticulture.
