Summertime is around the corner and families in & around Salt Lake City are spoilt for choice when it comes to activities and events to enjoy!

If you need inspiration for keeping the kids busy during their time off from school, we at Kid City Guide have rounded up the best summer activities for kids and families in the area.
These awesome summer camps and family-oriented activities are sure to bring endless amounts of fun and will allow for making the most of the season!

Kids can join Tracy Aviary’s bird experts for an Avian Adventure during these week-long summer camps for children in Kindergarten through 8th grade!

There are both full-day and half day options to choose from!

Summer at Thanksgiving Point means an adventure like no other!

Kids will discover dinosaurs, create unique art, experiment with topics in STEM, and more this year! Children will connect with each other and the world around them while making new friends, exploring nature, and meeting the insects and animals that call Thanksgiving Point home.

Calling all crepe enthusiasts ages 7-10!

Kids will kick off the summer with this fun 4-day cooking camp! They will be making Berry & Sweet Cream Filling Crepes; Savory Breakfast Crepes; Monte Cristo Crepes; Chocolate Crepes with Raspberry & Chocolate Ganache.

The Leonardo Summer Camps are designed for curious youth who love hands-on exploration and discovery!

Kids ages 6-12 will build their own Magical Fairy Garden, in this Fairy Garden Camp!

This camp is on Fridays during the month of June! Each Friday will be an adventure as kids make dreamy garden habitats, using wood, clay, and paint.

In this fun summer camp, kids will learn how to paint these animals!

They will paint one picture in each class. Along with the paintings, little artists will enjoy games and a snack.

Every week in Art First Arte Primero during the fine art sessions, your child(ren) will learn about an artist and art movement.

Children will be immersed in classical music, and fine art and learn about artists and composers in an inspiring fine art studio environment!

These camps are a fun adventure for youth with autism, ages 11-18 (or entering grades 6th-12th in the fall of 2023).

Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) will grow and connect with their peers as they explore the Museum of Natural Curiosity at Thanksgiving Point.

This will be a special art and performance workshop with puppeteer and author Randel McGee on the paired arts of puppetry and cut paper!

Students will learn about puppet design and performance and even build their own puppets to take home.

Fairies, folk tales, and forests oh my!

Families with kids will love this Thanksgiving Point mid-summer tradition of bringing the magic of fairy tales to life in the Ashton Gardens.

Dress up and get ready to meet some of your favorite storybook characters, explore the enchanted gardens, listen to stories, go on a quest, and so much more!

Kids of all skill levels, ages 6-15 will enjoy a week of Golfing!

Campers will be able to learn and sharpen their skills with a strong emphasis on the fundamentals of iron play, driving, chipping, putting, rules & etiquette. Kids will also be focusing on fitness, the STEM of Golf, and core values learned through playing the game.

In this camp, kids will learn the ins and outs of baking and become familiar with some recipes!

Each child will receive their own Busy Bee apron at this camp!

During this Theme Park Favorites Week, kids of mixed ages will learn how to do all their theme park favorite foods!

Children ages 2-4 years and their parents can enjoy a fun moment, especially for your toddler before the Aquarium opens.

Children ages 3-5 will enjoy a morning of animal adventures during these classes!

In this 4-day camp, your child will learn how to make perfect layer cakes, awesome buttercream, and marshmallow fondant.

On the last day, they will get to decorate their own custom (1-tier) fondant cake and take it home in a cute bakery box.

Junior Summer Camps are shortened, 3-hour junior camps for kids ages 5-7!

Little scientists ages 3-5 will enjoy a super fun day of experimenting and creating in this Mad Scientist STEM Day Camp!

Children will be building towers with foam, & making color explosion jars! They will also learn about the science of baking as they make homemade muffins and butter.

Little mermaids ages 3-5 will have a fun day of exploring and creating at the Under the Sea Day Camp.

Kids will enjoy a day full of seashells and magic! They will have a sensory station to search for seashells when they arrive and then head right into an afternoon of creating.

This workshop, taught by Treehouse Troupe Director, Wes Whitby, lets young actors Step on Stage at Treehouse by learn about writing, costuming, staging, and acting in a play!

Little pirates ages 3-5 will enjoy a super fun Pirate Day Camp-

Kids will have a sensory station to search for pirate treasure when they arrive and then head right into an afternoon of creating.

During this Copy Cats Week, Junior Cooks ages 7-10 will learn how to make some of their favorite famous foods!

Families and visitors of all ages can enjoy this Independence Day Celebration at Electric Park!

Kids will work with author and founder of the 90 Second Newbery Film Festival James Kennedy and other participants to script, film, and edit short films that give a new twist to a Newbery award-winning book.

This art camp is ideal for kids who want to experience art in many different mediums.

Your child will have the opportunity to create using watercolor, pencil sketching, acrylic painting, and other mediums. Your artist’s confidence, creativity, and talents will develop as they try new things and continue to practice on mediums they may be familiar with.

The perfect summer activity for all baking enthusiasts! In this 4-day camp, kids ages 7-10 will learn how to make delicious cupcakes, frostings, and fillings.

Participants will then hone their decorating and flavor-pairing skills as they compete in a Cupcake Wars challenge on the final day!

Kids ages 7 to 11 will enjoy this four-day workshop with Treehouse Programs Manager and Science Enthusiast Wes Whitby provides hands-on science and engineering activities.

During Pasta Week, Junior Cooks ages 7-10 will enjoy a delicious and hands-on 4-day camp where they will make Homemade Pasta; Spaghetti and Meatballs; Chicken Alfredo; and Pesto!

Families can enjoy a prehistoric run in Ashton Gardens this summer!

In addition to 50 acres of gardens, run through more than 25 life-sized dinosaurs. Don’t enjoy the scenery for too long – some of those speedy dinosaurs might catch up to you!
